IMPROVED SERVICE ON PLURAFAC D-25 SURFACTANT To meet growing demands for Plurafac® D-25 surfactant by manu facturers seeking better detergent formulations, BASF Wyandotte announces a new bulk storage and distribution center at Chicago. It will permit deliveries of Plurafac D-25 to Midwest users in much shorter periods than heretofore possible. In addition, the econo mies inherent in bulk storage and tank truck distribution should offer considerable cost savings through reduced customer inventories. The unusually low pour point of Plurafac D-25 is also a factor in these economics, offering outstanding storage stability with no special temperature controls. It can be poured, measured and utilized at temperatures as low as 5°F. These and other qualities of this 100% active, clear, nonionic surfactant have made Plurafac D-25 the choice of many formulators. In addition, its superior characteristics of detergency, soil suspension and immunity to water hardness make it especially suitable, in heavy-duty deter gency applications.

NEW PLURONIC POLYOLS BOOK The continually expanding horizons for BASF Wyandotte's exclu sive Pluronic® polyols in cosmetics are broadened still further in this updated book, long a "bible" in its field. This informative booklet offers not only the pertinent physical and chemical data on Pluronic polyols, but dozens of practical cosmetic formulations based on these outstanding 100% active, non-toxic surfactants. It delineates the specific qualities and potential utility of each of the 32 grades within the Pluronic series. Such characteristics as solu bility, wetting properties, cleansing, foaming, defoaming, gelling and dispersing are discussed in detail. How these properties can be plotted simply and quickly by formulators on our unique Pluronic Grid, to achieve desired qualities in a given formulation without exhaustive trial-and-error experimentation is also explained. Sample formulations range from hair grooming and germicidal gels, insect repellents and antiperspirants to cuticle remover, make-up base, moisturizing cream and bath oils. Together with the easy-to-use technical data, they point to hundreds of other appli cations for this unique series of surfactants. Chemists in the field of cosmetics will find this booklet of con siderable interest and value. To receive your copy, please write Department CO.
