Look at the cutaway diagrams in the black panel. Note how the flexible polyethylene gasket conforms both to the specially designed bottle flange and the side wall, as the cap is screwed tight. Note that it provides a double-seal. Polyethylene is chemically inert. It does not shred or con taminate bottle contents. It can be molded to the exact shape required for a tight seal. It retains its form, and will function properly at all temperatures.
