endeavor, and therefore we also want to highlight and celebrate the contributions of co-authors. Both the corresponding author and the lead author (typically a student or postdoc) of the winning paper will be invited to present award lectures as part of the lectureship. Because the chemistry of materials is interdisciplinary, and does not fit into any single division, the award is co-sponsored by the Division of Inorganic Chemistry (DIC) and the Polymeric Materials: Science & Engineering (PMSE) Division of the American Chemical Society. The host division for the lectureship will alternate each year, and the first year it will be hosted by the DIC. There will be a subtle bias each year toward choosing a paper that resonates with, or would be at home in, the respective host division of that year, although the research encompassed by each division is broad and overlaps considerably. The application is very short, and does not require any supporting letters. Details (i) Corresponding author (PI, group leader) must have published the paper within the first 12 years of his/her independent career. (ii) Please provide a short letter describing the story of the paper in the context of the contributions made by the team (2 pages maximum).
