An important example of a Mo2Co2 cluster containing a µ4-CO ligand encapsulated in the spiked triangular environment has been reported (Brun, P.; Dawkins, G. M.; Green, M.; Miles, A. D.; Orpen, A. G.; Stone, F. G. A. J. Chem. Soc., Chem. Commun. 1982, 926). This served as a model for CO activation on a stepped metal surface. This work should be included in ref 11.
