Comments Comment on “Transformation of 4-Connected Zeolite Topologies into a Mixed 4- and 6-Connected 3-Dimensional Open Framework” In Chem. Mater. 1999, 11, 3025-3027, a germanate open framework was published as UCSB-46. Its framework was later to be identified as the same as the one reported as ICMM-2 in Angew. Chem., Int. Ed. 1999, 38, 2436-2439. This coincidence was subsequently pointed out in Chem. Mater. 2000, 12, 1505-1507. Since ICMM-2 was prepared from metal complexes while UCSB-46 was prepared from methylamine, it shows that the same germanate framework can be obtained by using different directing agents.
