Compufer Calculation of Polynomial Product Terms The application of Polya's theorem to isomer counting' requires multiplying together andlor raising to powers polynomials having no cross terms. I n most cases of interest, the calculations are sufficiently involved that errors become very likely. A Fortran IV program has been written to determine d l terms of a product polynomid obtained by multiplying together two or more polynomials of the form

c,x,j.+ c2x&+ cIxajz+ . . . Proper dimensioning allows any number of polynomials of any length within the limitations of computer storage space. Five polynomials of length five requires approximately 3RK storage. The coefficients C, and exponents j , must he positive or negative integers. A program listing, sample print-out, and information is available upon request. 1
