2005, Volume 39, Pages 4206-4212 Yuichi Horii, Kurunthachalam Kannan, Gert Petrick, Toshitaka Gamo, Jerzy Falandysz, and Nobuyoshi Yamashita*: Congener-Specific Carbon Isotopic Analysis of Technical PCB and PCN Mixtures Using Two-Dimensional Gas Chromatography-Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry. The authors deeply regret a mistake in the use of figures and a data table from an article previously published in the journal Bunseki Kagaku (in Japanese; 2005, 54, 361-372). Figures 1, 2, 3a, 4, and 5 were very similar. Table 1 was substantially similar. Figure 8 was similar except data for PCN. The Bunseki Kagaku article should have been cited and permission should have been requested to use the figures and table in the Environmental Science and Technology paper. Although the presence of the first finding of PCN and the contexts of the two reports were different, use of the same figures and tables was against the ethical guidelines of Environmental Science and Technology, and we apologize for this.
