CONGO RED. A SYNTHESIS ADAPTED TO SECOND-SEMESTER ORGANIC CHEMISTRY COURSES -A CORRECTION As a result of an omission an error occurred in this article [J. CHEM. EDUC., 15, 129-31 (Mar., 1938)]. On page 130 the tenth sentence in the first paragraph should read as follows. "The lower, presumably acid, layer is tested with water and, if soluble, discarded. The upper layer is washed in the separatory funnel successively, with water, sodium carbonate, and again with water."
