2002, Volume 106B S. Torquato* and F. H. Stillinger: Controlling the ShortRange Order and Packing Densities of Many-Particle Systems Page 8356. The constants B and C in Table 2 and Figures 2 and 3 are actually defined by a trivially different expression for eq 11. If one uses the values of B and C given in Table 2, then eq 11 should read

gIII(r) )

A exp(-Br) sin(Cr + D)U(r - 1) r

Equivalently, if the original eq 11 is retained, then one should apply the trivial transformations B f B-1 and C f 2πC-1 to the constants reported in Table 2. Thus, for example, for case I and Figure 2, B ) 1.96 and C ) 0.8410, and for case II and Figure 3, B ) 1.96 and C ) 1.06, if the original eq 11 is retained. None of the conclusions reached in this paper are altered by these typographical errors. In particular, all of the reported upper density limits for each of the cases remain valid. 10.1021/jp022019p Published on Web 10/03/2002
