Automatic Fluorometric T L C Scanner
Model 2 was designed for use with Turner Model III Fluorometer. The scanner drives a thin-layer chromatographic plate (or film taped to a plate) past a fixed viewing port. As the plate moves, a selected strip of the plate is scanned and the intensity of fluorescence is displayed on a recorder. The basis for quantitation is accomplished by native fluorescence, reagent induced fluorescence, or fluorescence quenching. The advancements included in Model 2 are a threeposition gear box, a plate-height adjusting mechanism with a micrometer calibrated scale, and a slit width adjustment with a 5-cm scale calibrated in millimeters.
