Electrobalance, Model RG (recording gram) combines the circuits of the RM automatic electrobalance with the elastic ribbon suspension of the Gram manual instrument. It is designed to record weight change in vacuum, controlled atmospheres, or room air up to 1 0 0 ° C. Its precision and accuracy exceed requirements of thermogravimetry and satisfy most needs of corrosion research and surface chemistry. It is a null-balance type and has two sample weight ranges: 1 gram or 2.5 grams. It is sensitive to 0.1 microgram. It is used with a 1 mv. recorder. Details appear in Bulletin 109. Hydrogen lamp power supply provides regulated power for the hydrogen lamps that serve as ultraviolet sources in spectrophotometers. It may also be used as a power source for mercury lamps in absorption studies, or when wavelength accuracy checks are being made on an instrument. Three versions of the new instrument are available. One is designed specifically for the use with the Beckman DB spectrophotomoter. The others are used with the Beckman DU, DK-2, and DK-2A spectrophotometers. These are described in Bulletin 7 0 0 3 .
