NEW MINIATURIZED FILING

A new miniaturized filing system that cuts filing space by a 200 to 1 ratio while saving time in retrieval and reproduction of records and reports has been announced by Documentation Incorporated, Bethesda, Maryland. DOCUFORM. is based on a commercial version of a government/DOC I N C development using a single flat transparent sheet of film which permits over 100 pages of standard-size documents to be stored and reproduced from each 5 x 8-in. unit. I n addition to the miniaturized files, the system employs a Random-File technique of color-coded tabs on each DOCUFORM. This permits instant selection from the file and speeds retrieval for viewing on a reader or reproduction in “hard copy” form from most existing microfilm reader-printer equipment. Each DOCUFORM filing cabinet-about the size of a shoebox-is designed to make misfiling virtually impossible and is equivalent to 200 standard-size filing cabinets. The DOCUFORM itself uses a reduction ratio of approximately 18 to 1with up to 100 frames per 5 x 8-in. sheet.
