Correction to “Effect of Ionic Aqueous Environments on the Structure and Dynamics of the Aβ21−30 Fragment: A MolecularDynamics Study” Micholas Dean Smith and Luis Cruz* J. Phys. Chem. B 2013, 117 (22), 6614−6624. DOI: 10.1021/jp312653h The classification of the turn structure was erroneously oversimplified in its description. This incorrect classification description is found in the first paragraph of the “Secondary Structure Classification” subsection of the “Methods” section (on p 6616, right column) and currently is written as “Turns were defined as structures not belonging to either a helix or a β classification while having a STRIDE sequence that corresponded to a β or helix with T substitutions for all of the E/B/ G/H/I residues.” The more accurate description of the turn classification is instead, “Turns were defined with the conditions that (1) the structure does not already belong to either a helix or a β classification and (2) the letters at positions one and ten, or two through five, or six through nine, or three through five, or four through six are found by STRIDE to be ‘T’.” Further, it should be noted that all of the results associated with the turn classification presented in the original paper follow from this corrected description, and that the correction listed here does not modify the results or conclusions of the original text.
