Correction to Aromatic Polyisobutylene Succinimides as Viscosity Reducers with Asphaltene Dispersion Capability for Heavy and ExtraHeavy Crude Oils Tomás Eduardo Chávez-Miyauchi,* Luis S. Zamudio-Rivera,* and Victor Barba-López Energy Fuels 2013, 27 (4), 1994−2001. DOI: 10.1021/ef301748n The authors regret that, in the original publication, there are incorrect citations for the asphaltene structure used in the molecular modeling. On page 1995 in the second paragraph of section 2.6, it reads “The structure was developed by Buenrostro-González et al.23,24” The cited references 23 and 24 are incorrect. As published, these references were given as follows: (23) Bárcenas, M.; Buenrostro-González, E.; ZamudioRivera, L.; Duda, Y. Energy Fuels 2008, 22 (3), 1917−1922. (24) López-Chávez, E.; García-Quiroz, A.; Muñoz-Vega, R.; Benítez-Puebla, J. I.; Zamudio-Rivera, L. S.; Martínez-Magadán, J. M.; Buenrostro-González, E.; Hernández-Altamirano, R. J. Chem. Eng. Data 2012, 57 (12), 3538−3542. In fact, the original work upon which the asphaltene structure presented in Figure 2 is based and developed should be correctly cited as follows: Buenrostro-Gonzalez, E.; Garcia-Martinez, J.; Ruiz-Morales, Y. Una Aproximación a la Estructura Molecular de Asfaltenos Separados de Aceites Crudos Mexicanos (An Approach to the Molecular Structure of Asphaltenes Separated from Mexican Crude); Mexican Institute of Petroleum: Mexico City, Mexico, April 16, 2004; 03-2004-040212361000-01. The authors regret the omission to the original publication, which shows the asphaltene molecule building methodology. The authors clarify that this was because they did not know about its existence, and therefore, there are three authors that proposed the cited asphaltene structure.
