The basis for the withdrawal is a violation of the Ethical Guidelines to Publication of Chemical Research of the American Chemical Society. Material was published in the referenced manuscript that was identical to material published, by the authors, in Tetrahedron 2012, 68, 9658−9664 and Tetrahedron 2013, 69, 1378−1386. The two manuscripts published in Tetrahedron were submitted on June 19, 2012 and July 11, 2012, and the manuscript to The Journal of Organic Chemistry was submitted on July 12, 2012 without disclosing to the editorial office of JOC the existence of the other manuscripts.
