e would like to clarify the meaning of one sentence, appearing on page 1624, first paragraph-right column, in our paper. The sentence reads In all our catalyst samples GC1−GC3, the peak intensity ratios of the Au 4f7/2 and Au 4f5/2 excitations are found to deviate from the standard statistical ratio of 4:3, which has been reported by many researchers.41−46 The correction reads as In all our catalyst samples GC1−GC3, the peak intensity ratios of the Au 4f7/2 and Au 4f5/2 excitations are found to deviate from the standard statistical ratio of 4:3. These deviations have been discovered by Chenakin and Kruse38 based on Au 4f spectral analysis of their as-synthesized Au-TiO2 catalyst samples.
