Correction to Pickering Emulsion Templated Layer-by-Layer Assembly for Making Microcapsules [Langmuir 2010, 26, 15554]. Jian Li and Harald D. H. St€ over* Page 15554. We incorrectly attributed the first description of hollow capsules formed by the layer-by-layer deposition of polymers onto fugitive colloid cores to the paper (ref 11) by Caruso et al. (Caruso, F.; Caruso, R.; M€ ohwald, H. Nanoengineering of inorganic and hybrid hollow spheres by colloidal templating. Science 1998, 282, 1111-1114). This concept was in fact first described in a paper by Donath et al. (Donath, E.; Sukhorukov, G. B.; Caruso, F.; Davis, S. A.; M€ ohwald, H. Novel hollow polymer shells by colloid-templated assembly of polyelectrolytes. Angew., Chem. Int., Ed. Engl. 1998, 37, 2202-2205, cited as reference 12a in our paper) followed by Sukhorukov et al. (Sukhorukov, G. B.; Donath, E.; Davis, S.; Lichtenfeld, H.; Caruso, F.; Popov, V. I.; M€ ohwald, H. Stepwise polyelectrolyte assembly on particle surfaces: a novel approach to colloid design. Polym. Adv. Technol. 1998, 9, 759-767) and the above paper by Caruso and Caruso (ref 11), all in 1998. We apologize for this mistake.
