Correction to Personal Multifunctional Chemical Analysis Systems for Undergraduate Chemistry Laboratory Curricula [J. Chem. Educ. 2010, 87, 770. DOI: 10.1021/ed100502s]. Michael W. Vannatta, Michelle Richards-Babb,* and Sally D. Solomon

The authors attempted to provide a comprehensive review of the two major manufactures of Multifunctional Chemical Analysis Systems. A few corrections and additions are given here. Regarding Pasco, on-site training and professional development is available, in addition to the online training they provide. Pasco also offers two- and three-day summer institutes. Pasco has many multimeasure sensors that expand channel availability by allowing as many as nine measurements per sensor connection. Lastly, the stated sampling rate of the Xplorer GLX should be 1,000,000 Hz (1 MHz). Regarding Vernier, the original article did not review the LabQuest Mini, which unlike LabPro, is Vernier's computer solution. The LabQuest Mini has a maximum sampling rate of 100,000 Hz and can accommodate five sensor ports that are compatible with over 50 sensors. Also, LabQuest comes equipped with onboard apps. For instance, LabQuest has a built-in periodic table that chemistry instructors find very useful. DOI: 10.1021/ed100742p Published on Web 08/12/2010
