Correction An error appears in my article, Understanding Enzyme Inhibition (Ochs, R. S. J. Chem. Educ. 2000, 77, 1453– 1456). The description of the lower curve in Figure 2 is labelled as “noncompetitive”. Instead it should be labeled as “uncompetitive”. It is correctly given in the legend. Raymond S. Figure 2. Uncompetitive inhibition. In the direct plot (v i vs [S]) inhibition is maximal at high [S] (the Vmax asymptote of the control) and diminishes to zero as [S] approaches zero (the Vmax/ Km tangent line of the control).
