iuters necessary in solving the probEms of equilibrium-controlledchem$try involving complicated, molecuar structures, is making the field of norganic polymen profitable for Iondefense business. Inorganic chemistry is usually quilibrium-controlled so that proiortions and kinds of products are lest interpreted in terms of equiibrium constants rather than in erms of the mechanisms familiar in he kinetically controlled organic hemistry. To develop an undertanding of inorganic chemistry on a ,ar with organic chemistry it will be lecessary to delve deeply into thernodynamics and its underlying scinces, particularly application of tatistical mechanics and stochastics D molecular structures. Only by .etting so involved, according to Ir. Van Wazer, can we expect to ‘tailor-make’’ inorganic chemicals vith the facility that the organic hemist has exercised for some time.
