MULTICONVERTIBLE UV-VISIBLE SPECTROPHOTOMETER The Shimadzu Double-40 Series is a unique modular spectro photometry system built around a prism-grating double monochromator which provides high resolution (better than 2A), low stray light (0.001% at 195 m μ), and high photo metric accuracy (better than 0.2%T in expanded range). Other features: wavelength readout is linear; the slit readout is in m/i of spectral band width; automatic 0 and 100%T adjustment ensures no-drift single beam operation. Interchangeable detection modules provide optimum ac curacy and sensitivity for studies of either turbid samples of solutions. Interchangeable sample compartments and monitoring systems are also available. Visit Booth 902 or circle Reader Service Card No. 1. MULTI-PURPOSE RECORDING SPECTROPHOTOMETER IMPS-SOL) This instrument, of exceptional sophistication and flexibil ity, has inherent design features which allow automatic recording of absorption bands of highly turbid, translucent, opaque, as well as transparent materials, without the purchase of costly accessories. Recordings can be made over a wavelength range from 190 m μ to 2500 mu. Large sample and reference compartment accommodates attach ments for absorption photometry of fluorescent solutions, fluorometric analysis, chromatogram scanning, and an ac cessory for first-derivative curves. A unique microspectrophotometric attachment permits, for example, scanning a single red blood cell as it is moved across a light beam of fixed wavelength, or recording the absorption of the cell as the wavelength is varied. QV-50 SPECTROPHOTOMETER A single beam UV visible spectrophotometer having a wide wavelength range from extreme ultraviolet .183 m«) to the near infrared c 1200 m;i). The QV-50 has an especially high resolving power in the ultraviolet region and can make accurate measurement of rotatory dispersion, circu lar dichroism, etc. in the UV region. QV 50 accessories include: Direct Reading Attachment, Atomic Absorption, Spectrofluorescence Exciter and Flow Dichroism. Visit Booth No. 901 or circle Reader Service Card No. 3. AQV-50 DIGITAL SPECTROPHOTOMETER Incorporates the same optical design as the QV-50 but features advanced electrical circuitry for push button op eration and digital readout. The setting of the sensitivity, zero, and full scale all proceed automatically at the push of one button. Readout is presented in absorbance from 0 to 2.000 or transmittance from 0 to 100.0%. The Shimadzu DT-2B Thermal Analysis Apparatus features simultaneous

DTA/TGA capability to 1200°C, a transistorized three-pen recorder especially designed for use in thermal analysis, and a universal furnace which rapidly responds to control. The DT-2B exceeds the differential thermal analysis and thermogravimetry capabilities of instruments costing twice as much. And it is a thoroughly reliable apparatus with an extremely stable base line, high sensitivity and reproducibility. Accessories are available: to expand its DTA operation to a range of — 150° to 1500°C; perform dilatometric measurements to 1200°C, and make high performance specific heat measurements to 850°C utilizing a double relative adiabatic system (Sykes-Jones method). Microsample Capability

SPECTR0NIC-270IR Gives total performance equal to instruments twice its price. Automatic grating-and-filter interchange lets you record absorption spectra continuously over the entire 4 0 0 0 ^ 4 0 0 wavenumber range — with no scanning stop. A vernier increases readability by 10X over the paper. The 270IR has exceptionally high resolution, ± 0 . 5 % trans mittance accuracy, 0.5% transmittance reproducibility, and four scanning speeds — 10, 20, 45, and 90 minutes. The total performance of the 270IR will make your IR pro cedures simpler and more reliable than ever before. See the Spectronic 270IR at Booths of 201 ~ 205 or circle Reader Service Card No. 5.

Also available is the companion DT-20B for micro TGA and DTA samples ranging in size from a few tenths of a milligram to as high as 50 mg., this instrument offers unrivaled baseline stability and high sensitivity. Visit Booth No. 902 or circle Reader Service Card No. 7.
