Structural Formula for rn-Aminophenol
URING the previous crystnl studies on 4aminosalicylic acid ( d ) a decomposition product was observed. This compound, not identified at that time, was obtained virtudly pure when 4aminosalicylic acid w&s sublimed or melted, and has now been identified 8.8 m-aminoDhenol and characterized. Excellent crystals of m-aminophenol can be obtained by vaeuum sublimation ofpaminosalicylic acid or by direct sublimation of the aminmhenol itself.
