Decidedly unique Pelargonic Acid Two examples why pelargonic acid is not just another short-chain monobasic acid

Adds quality and appeal to cosmetics. Propylene glycol dipelargonate — a distinctive ester of pelargonic acid — gives creams and lotions excellent penetrating and spreading properties without the usual oily feel. It also imparts excellent low-temperature stability and clarity to bath oils, preshave lotions and other clear liquid products. And its emolliency and solubility are comparable to isopropyl myristate. Upgrades performance of synthetic lubricants. Polyol esters of straightchain pelargonic acid are used extensively in a variety of synthetic lubricants for their excellent oxidation stability and unexcelled low-temperature properties. Hin dered polyol esters incorporating pelargonic acid — used extensively in aircraft turbine lubricants — give excellent lubricity, hightemperature stability, low viscosity rise during oxidation, a low order of corrosive breakdown products, and good additive response. What makes pelargonic acid different? Emfac 1202 Pelargonic Acid, a nearly water white liquid monobasic acid with a C9 oddcarbon structure, imparts many properties to its derivatives which are generally unattainable with naturally occurring short chain monobasic acids. Better lowtemperature flexibility and fluidity,

lower melting points, and excellent color stability are just a few of the unique derivative benefits provided by pelargonic acid. Moreover, because it's produced from abundantly available domestic raw materials, pelargonic acid has shown a favorable price stability compared to acids derived from coconut oil. What other short chain acids can't do, decidedly unique pelargonic usually can. More information on numerous other unique applications.
