Hydrogenators for synthesis, analysis Brown 2 hydrogénation units provide simple, automatic hydrogénation at atmospheric pressures and temperatures. Two types are now available: • The Brown 2 Hydrogenator is a preparation unit for synthesizing 1 to 1000 grams of material. It can also be used for studies of catalysis and hydrogénation rates.
NEW PRODUCTS
A double focusing mass spectrometer, the Atlas Model S M - 1 , incorporates a unique spherical condenser for increased sensitivity. Manufactured by Atlas-MAT of Bremen, Germany, the spectrometer is particularly suited for molecular structure determinations requiring maximum resolution, as well as for determinations of trace impurities in metallic samples, semiconductors, and insulators. The spectrometer may be provided with an electron bombardment ion source, a Becky field emission source and various spark-type ion sources for quantitative and qualitative analyses of gas, liquid, and solid samples. • The Brown 2 Hydro-Analyzer is an analytical unit for determination of unsaturation in organic compounds. As little as 0.0002 mole of unsaturation may be analyzed routinely with better than 1 % accuracy.

After catalyst formation, the units generate hydrogen for the hydrogénation reaction. No hydrogen cylinders, gas burets or pressure vessels are necessary.
