A procedure and sampler to collect and analyze for polychlorinated naphthalenes (PCN's) in ambient air were developed. PCN's were collected on a glass fiber filter (GFF) and two precleaned polyurethane foam (PUF) plugs in tandem. PCN's were triply extracted from PUF and GFF with toluene a t 25 "C. Samples were analyzed by quadrupole gas chromatography/mass spectrometry/computer (GC/MS/COMP) in the multiple ion detection (MID) mode, permitting detection of
