Strong, active Du Pont DBE (dibasic ester) Solvent provides a wide range of flexibility in bake-finish coatings formulations. When blended with other low cost, low toxic ity solvents, DBE Solvent is compatible with vir tually all coil and sheet coatings resin systems. For instance, it provides excellent adhesion and leveling for high-performance bake fin ishes. And in a polyester-based system, DBE Solvent offers distinct advantages in pigment hiding power. Formulators can expect a 3% to 5% increase in actual hiding performance. DBE Solvent also serves as a coalescing agent in waterborne formulations. Because it is non-flocculating, it provides greater color development in waterbased, tinted industrial and trade sale paints. In addition to the broad flexibility DBE offers formulators, it costs up to 30% less than most other active solvents.
