Now you have a choice of two super-disintegrants from GAF On the one hand XL, which you know. On the other, new XL-10 for formulations in which smaller particles are desirable. In wet formulations, for example, XL-10's low-micron size particles are easily incorporated intra- or extra:granulariy. Tablets are uniformly compounded, better bound, easily (and economically) compressed. Spray coating, too, goes more smoothly since XL-10's smaller particles pass readily through nozzles. Specifics aside, XL-10 brings several overall advantages to the business of tablet formulation and manufacture. Friability is
(Crospovidone NF) minimized. Capillary activity is heightened, swelling capacity enhanced. Insolubility in water prohibits gel formation so XL-10 is never tacky. Disintegration proceeds uninhibited.
