DOWEX A-l CHELATING RESIN
Dow announces the availability of Dowex® A-l Chelating Resin. This resin, containing irninodiacetate active groups, can be used in removing traces o>f heavy metals from a wide range of product streams and i n separating various heavy metals. The chelating resin will remove traces of heavy metal cations such as iron, copper or zinc from concentrated solutions of alkali and alkaline earth metal salts. In addition, alkaline earth cations can be removed from concentrated solutions of alkali metal cations.
The exceptionally high selectivity o f the new resin makes possible the separation of many closely related ionic species. For instance, nickel can be separated from cobalt and copper from nickel. Heavy metals are easily eluted from Dowex A - l Chelating Resin by mineral acids. It possesses the same excellent stability and sphericity characteristics as conventional Dowex products.
