Rate of sediment accumulation of extractable organic halogen (EOX) and of 12 trace elements (As, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Hg, Mn, Ni, Pb, Sn, V, and Zn) were analyzed retrospectively over 100 years in the recipient area of pulp mills in Lake Saimaa and in two nonrecipient forest lakes in southeastern Finland.
