What is this "*f
15% Hydrochloric Acid? 25% Sodium Hydroxide? Glycerin and Water? Water and Alcohol? Methylene Chloride and Alcohol? | 10% Diammonium Phosphate? Saturated Sodium Chloride? Whatever your guess, you could be right. Actually, it's 25% sodium hydroxide and 2lA% Hercules® CMC. But all the solutions listed, and many more, can be thickened to the degree shown if needed by adding one of Hercules® water-soluble polymers. Two of these water-soluble polymers, cellulose gum and Natrosol® 250, have numerous other unique and often contradictory properties. For example, solutions can be stabilized to any prescribed thickness. They can be Newtonian or pseudoplastic, with viscosity varying depending upon the amount of stress applied—as required in certain cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. They can be made to flocculate or deflocculate many raw materials—clay, for instance. To explore the full versatility of these major members of Hercules' family of water-soluble polymers, send for technical data and samples. Please state uses in mind. ncRvinmiDE CH2=CHC0nH2 new law price: 4S«?/lb.* Cyanamid's new price on ACRYLAMIDE is 49£/lb., the second price reduction in 18 months. This material now assays in excess of 98%, an improvement made possible by continuing research. It is the lowest price and highest purity at which we've ever been able to offer this reactive vinyl monomer and bifunctional intermediate. • A more economical ACRYLAMIDE suggests that you re-evaluate its use in your processes, or think of new areas of application. One which holds special promise is the manufacture of water soluble polymers. • Send coupon for information, samples, and a copy of "Acrylo-News," our bibliography of the latest literature on versatile ACRYLAMIDE. * T / L f.o.b. plant
