I T H the tremendous growth and expansion of the chemical industry in America and t h r o u g h o u t t h e world, and the vital strategic i m p o r t a n c e of pushing American trade overseas, it would seem inconceivable that n o international chemical trade and technical magazine is currently b e i n g published in this country. B u t such has been t h e case—up to now.

Yet the need for such an advertising m e d i u m h a s become m o r e and m o r e acute, as American foreign trade has g r o w n m o r e and more desirable. An International Advertising Association survey showed, for example, that in t h e year 1956 around $478,000,000 was spent in foreign advertising by 3600 representative firms d o i n g business abroad. Yet, the largest share of this huge budget, 24% ivas allocatedto foreign-published'magazines and trade publications—and only 3% to ivhate ver small specialized "vertical" foreign trade journals were published in all fields in this country during thai year. O b v i o u s l y , then, t h e need for an international chemical magazine published here and circulated abroad is very real indeed. The ivonder is that nobody got around to doing it long ago.

I/EC publishes more editorial on D e sign, D e v e l o p m e n t and Research than all other U . S. technical chemical p u b lications c o m b i n e d . It is t h e clearing house for the latest in chemical and engineering technology. That a c c o u n t s for t h e ever-increasing need for I/EC—International in every country in t h e world. T h a t accounts for the fact t h a t I/EC—International will have the largest circulation of any international technical chemical publication. T o get your slice of the b o o m i n g growth of the foreign chemical industry, m a k e sure you reach the key chemical specialists abroad in Design, D e velopment and Research by advertising in 11 EC—International. Closing date for the first issue (July) of //EC— International is J u n e 20, 1959-
