Editorial
Accelerated Electronic Publication The American Chemical Society made the entire collection of its Journals available on the World Wide Web in September 1997. This included the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and 25 other ACS journals. One effect will be reduced publication time because papers will be posted in the World Wide Web edition of this Journal as soon as they are ready for publication starting January 1, 1998. This means that availability on the Web can occur anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks in advance of the cover date on the printed issue. The date of publication on the Web is the official date of publication, and this will be recorded at the bottom of the first page of the article in the printed issue. Through accelerated electronic publication more rapid disclosure of new findings to our readership will occur.
