The new building of Beckman Instruments' H e l i p o t Division at Newport Beach, Calif., is awarded the 1957 merit award by the American Institute of Architects. The 156,000-square-foot building occupies a 15-acre site overlooking BalboaNewport Bay, and w i l l house administrative and manufacturing functions of t h e division. A cafeteria affords a full view of the harbor area and opens onto a landscaped terrace.
