J. house were painted for the first time during the summer of 1956. The formulation: an exterior mid-tone tint base using Celanese CL-202 polyvinyl acetate copolymer emulsion. A single coat was applied over weathered and stained shakes that had been pre-dipped in a thin oil primer before construction. (At the time of painting, the shakes had weathered about 7 months.) Now—6 years later—these un retouched photos (taken in June, 1962) provide convincing evidence of durability and stain-resistance offered by the CL-202 formulation. Exterior paints formulated with CL-202 are easy to apply, have good freeze-thaw stability, hiding and leveling properties and resist fading and chalking. Why not look into the formulation of exterior paints with Celanese CL-202. We will be glad to help you use CL-202 — or any of our wide variety of resin emulsions—to your best advantage.
