Analytical Instrument Sales Opportunities A promotional scheme to enable a limited number of makers of chromatography and spectroscopy equipment to gain access to Eastern European and Soviet markets is being provided by a program at the Bureau of EastWest Trade at the U.S. Department of Commerce. A mini-exhibition will be in Vienna at the U.S. East-West Trade Center, Dec. 3-5,1974, after which the exhibit will move to Moscow to be open Dec. 10-12. The exhibitions will be held in conjunction with technical seminars. At both places, professional staffs will have developed appropriate promotion to attract the right audience of end-users. Because of the need for technical seminars, participation in the exhibition requires the presentation of a technical paper at each of the two stops. Market research has shown the following equipment to be in high demand: chromatographic: gradient mixers, fraction collectors, detectors, microdosing services, molecular services, liquid/liquid extractors, gas chromatographs; spectroscopic: spectrofluorometers, infrared and ultraviolet double-beam spectrophotometers, flame photometers, atomic absorption spectrometers, Fourier transform spectrophotometers, and X-ray fluorescence spectrometers.
