Goodrich Co., Akron, Ohio At the plant of the Champion Porcelain Co. in Detroit there is a battery of Abbé ball mills, 6 feet inside diameter and S feet long, for grinding silicanite slurry used in spark plugs. Silicanite is one of the hardest of stones axid, after being: initially ground in a Kardinge ball mill, is dumped into the Abbé mills and mixed with clay and other ingredients f o r finish grinding. The charge consists of about 50 per cent water by weight. 30C
