Biographical Sketches Tushar S. Navale was born in Pune, India in 1984. He received his B.Sc. in chemistry in 2005 and his M.Sc. in organic chemistry in 2007 from the University of Mumbai, India. In August 2007, he began his Ph.D. in the group of professor Raj Rathore at Marquette University, Milwuakee, WI. His research focuses on the design and synthesis of π-conjugated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons for long-distance charge transport. Khushabu Thakur is a fourth-year Ph.D. student at Marquette University under the guidance of Professor Raj Rathore. She received her B.Sc. in chemistry in 2006 and her M.Sc. in organic chemistry in 2008 from the University of Mumbai, India. Her research focuses on the preparation of molecular tweezers and their application to the preparation of charge-transport assemblies. Vijay S. Vyas is a fifth-year graduate student in Professor Rathore’s laboratory at Marquette University. After completing his B.Sc. in honors chemistry and his M.Sc. in organic chemistry from Banaras Hindu University in India, he worked as a lecturer at a postgraduate college in India. His current research focuses on the synthesis of nanometer-sized polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons for emission and through-space charge delocalization studies. Shriya H. Wadumethrige received her B.Sc. in chemistry in 2001 from University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka and served as a lecturer from 2003 to 2006 at the same university. At present, she is working for her Ph.D. degree under the guidance of Professor Raj Rathore at Marquette University. Her research interests include the synthesis and study of electroactive organic molecules for optoelectronic applications. Ruchi Shukla received her Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India in 2001 for her work on metal ion extraction with novel chelating ligands. She worked as a research scientist at Chembiotek Research International, India for 2 years before joining Dr. Rathore’s group as a postdoctoral researcher. Since August 2010, she has worked as a chemistry instructor at Marquette University. Her research interests are in the area of the synthesis and study of novel electroactive molecules. Sergey V. Lindeman received his M.A. degree in chemistry from Moscow University and his Ph.D. degree from the Russian Academy of Sciences in 1989 under the direction of Professor Yu. T. Struchkov on the X-ray structural studies of extended polyphenylene oligomers. After a 2-year stay at the University of Bergen, he joined Professor J. K. Kochi’s group at the University of Houston in 1996. Since 2005, he has worked at Marquette University as a manager of the X-ray Structural Laboratory. His research interests concern high-precision structures related to the chemical reactivity and electronic properties of compounds. Professor Rathore received a B.S. degree from Christ Church College, Kanpur, India, an M.S. degree from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India, and a Ph.D. from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. He conducted postdoctoral research under the direction of Jay Kochi (Houston) prior to joining the faculty at Marquette University, where he has quickly risen to the rank of professor. Dr. Rathore’s research program focuses on the field of organic supramolecular chemistry r 2011 American Chemical Society

and electron transfer, with applications to molecule-based electronic devices and solar energy conversions. He has published extensively, with more than 120 publications. In 2004, he received a prestigious CAREER award from the NSF.
