AC-5 is one of a series of Catalin antioxidants. Other Catalin chemical products include bacteriostats, oil additives, alkylation products and special chemicals. Catalin plastics include polystyrene, polyethylene and nylon molding and e x t r u s i o n compounds. In a wide range of products made of white or light-colored r u b b e r . . . natural or synthetic... such as household, medical, specialty or personal applications . . . Catalin AC-5 is especially suitable because it is non-staining and non-discoloring. In white-wall tires, when used in black rubber as well as white, Catalin AC-5 acts to prevent bleeding of coloring matter across the fusion boundary. The low volatility of Catalin AC-5 also makes it applicable in non-rubber products such as petroleum hydrocarbons, and as an inhibitor of polymerization in chemical processing.
