The Environmental Science and Engineering Program at UCLA, now ten years old, is an interdisciplinary program in the School of Public Health. We are seeking applications for three tenure-track positions to conduct graduate level Interdisciplinary environmental teaching and research. Emphasis is currently given to problem solving. The priority areas for recruitment are: a) Environmental engineer or applied scientist with background in a field such as mechanical or chemical engineering, physical chemistry, or other scientific engineering field which has foundations in physical science. b) Applied environmental biological scientist with background in biology, botany, agriculture, or other related field. c) Environmental social scientist with background in sociology, political science, law or related fields. Applicants should have interest in interdisciplinary studies. Rank and salary commensurate with experience. A doctoral degree is required. The first appointment will be at a senior level and this person will head the program. The second and third position will be at the assistant or associate professor level.
