DOWANOL EP

New Text improved, economical aromatic glycol ether offers unusual solvent and chemical properties

Dowanol® E P combines aliphatic and aromatic nuclei with a n etlier linkage and a primary hydroxyl group. T h e result is a high-boiling compound with high solubihty in a wide range of organic products, but low aqueous solubihty. Trie a b o v e characteristics make Dowanol E P an excellent plasticizer and solvent for nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate, ethyl cellulose, a n d polyvinyl butyrol, as well as for many vinyl, phenolic, alkyd and ester-type resins. Dowanol E P also finds application or shows promise as a solvent in many specialized inks, an emulsifier helping to leaver the interfacial tension of oil-water emulsions, and an ingredient of slurrying compounds used to protect metal surfaces against corrosion. Dowanol EP sells for a price only slightly above that of the

aliphatic glycol ethers. I n addition, recent process improvements have resulted in a product that is essentially colorless. Why not put Dowanol E P to work for you? For samples and further information
