"Chromosorb"* 102-a porous polymer column packing that causes no tailing of water, alcohols, or most other oxygenated polar compounds. "CHROMOSORB" 102 is a high sur face area resin specially prepared and size-graded for use as a chromato graphic packing. It is prepared from Rohm and Haas Amberlite® XAD-2 and is similar to the type of porous resin described by Dr. 0. L. Hollis. See Anal. Chem. 38, 309 (1966). "CHROMOSORB" 102 serves as a solid absorbent of the GSC type. Yet it offers chromatographic character istics similar to GLC liquid phases. It is a unique departure from usual diatomite supports and offers two major advantages: 1) It causes no tailing of water, alco hols, or most other oxygenated polar compounds. 2) Because of the lack of a liquid phase which can bleed off, the packing will not cause a change in retention time with age. Nor will it cause base line drift during a tem perature-programmed run.
