Advisory Panel for Instrumentation AFTER of successful operation in the able hands of
MANY YEARS our Contributing Editor, Dr. Ralph H. Muller, the Instrumentation column will take a new form beginning with the January 1969 issue. Invited articles from outside contributors will cover a wide variety of subjects related to chemical instrumentation. The topics will range from descriptions of developments from the research frontiers of physics through specially constructed components or equipment for research measurements to modifications or design features in commercial instrumentation. Dr. Miiller mill continue as editor of this feature and will add commentary to the contributed articles as he deems appropriate. One page 39A of this issue, an announcement is being made of the formation of a new Advisory Panel for Instrumentation. Initial membership on the Panel consists of six well-known authorities in various aspects of analytical instrumentation, Jonathan W. Amy, Glenn L. Booman, Robert L. Bowman, Jack W. Frazer, Howard V. Malmstadt, and William F. Ulrich. We are deeply indebted to this outstanding group, which during the past year has consulted by telephone, correspondence, and personal meetings with the editorial staff, and has helped to formulate policy and to recommend topics and authors for the invited contributions. It is anticipated that membership on the Panel will be on a rotating basis, so that we can call upon the advice of a wide circle of experts over a period of years wikhout imposing unduly upon the efforts of any individual scientist. We are eagerly looking forward to an exciting new feature which we confidently expect will play an increasingly significant role in keeping analytical chemists abreast of developments in this most important area in the years to come.
