The MicroView uses Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM) tech­ nology, which lets you view sur­ faces at u p to atomic resolution. To the STM, we add a built-in potentiostat and electrochemical cell. But the MicroView gives you more than a closeup view. It electrochemically stimulates your sample in situ and measures the resulting reaction as you view a graphic image of the reaction site on your video display.

Lockhart B. Rogers is Graham Perdue Professor of Chemistry Emeritus at the University of Georgia. He has been teaching since 1942, except during February 1946-August 1948, when he was group leader of long-range re­ search in analytical chemistry at what is now Oak Ridge National Laborato­ ry. He taught for 4 years at Stanford, 13 years at MIT, 13 years at Purdue, and 12.5 years at Georgia before retir­ ing in 1986. Among the numerous awards he has received are the ACS awards in Analytical Chemistry and in Chromatography, the ACS Division of Analytical Chemistry Award for Ex­ cellence in Teaching, and the Analyti­ cal Chemistry Award of the Society of Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh.
