For transaxle fluids, E P A I imparts to conventional automatic transmission fluids t h e extreme pressure requirements of rear axle hypoid gear oils. I t is effective a t low concentrations—is not corrosive to copper, bronze or other sensitive metals—it is not a pro-oxidant a n d is compatible
with other essential additives. For gear oils, E P A I imparts desired load-carrying capacity for protection against wear under both high-speed and high shock-loading conditions. For cutting fluids, E P A I provides outstanding performance in drilling and tapping titanium and other difficultto-machine metals. I t improves surface finish—lengthens tool life—is non-staining to copper and copper a l l o y s permits transparent formulations with mildly pleasant odor.
