Examination of different sediments show the Levee abundance of the molecular fossils appears Oleanane index 2.17 dependent on the depositional environment. Des‐A Oleanane index 43.13 The channel clayballs presumably from Fichtelites index 1.60 surrounding flood plain terraces are more Beyerane index 1.05 oxidized than other facies, have a complex Des‐A‐Oleanane to 2.10 signature, and possibly have a two stage Fichtelites ratio diagenesis. They also have the highest oleanane Des‐A‐Oleanane to 1.85 Beyerane ratio index, and des‐A oleanane to diterpenoids ratio, 2.17 but these may not be comparable to the other Oleanane index Des‐A Oleanane index 43.13 facies because of high oxidation. Comparison Fichtelites index 1.60 between the less oxidized levee and backswamp Beyerane index 1.05 facies, show higher levels of angiosperm input in Des‐A‐Oleanane to 2.10 the levee, and higher levels of conifer input in Fichtelites ratio 1.85 the backswamp. In summary, angiosperms are Des‐A‐Oleanane to Beyerane ratio found in all facies, input and dominance over conifers appears highest in the clayballs with High, intermediate, low conifer input highest in the backswamp.
