NEW PRODUCTS The instrument will operate on 120/240-volt, 56-60-cycle, 15-watt power. I t weighs less than 6 pounds and can be flush or surface mounted. I t was designed primarily for use with resistance temperature detectors for measuring low temperature (—200° to 1200° F.) and narrow temperature spans down to a minimum of 20° F . The proportional-position controller, Type HP-37, provides reliable, throttling control of valves, dampers, and rheostats. Its proportional band is adjustable from 0.5% to 7% and has a manual reset adjustment to take care of offset. It has an operating range from 0° to 140° F., and accuracy within that span to within ± 0.5%. As a pyrometer, this control form is used primarily with fuel-fired furnaces, dryers, ceramic kilns, and plating baths. It can be flush or surface mounted and weighs 12 pounds. P-18

SURFACE

Industrial Instruments Engineering Corp. has developed two new sensing cells. A light-walled, individual cavity type is available for stabilized or elevated temperature applications. Thin walls separate sensing cavities to ensure rapid thermal stabilization. This cell is engineered with a Wheatstone bridge circuit which approximately doubles the response output of conventional cells with the same number of sensing elements, as explained by the manufacturer.
TENSION
The DOGNON-ABRIBAT TENSIOMETER is designed for the rapid and accurate mea surement of the surface tension and the static interfacial tension of t w o liquids. It is also used to measure the elasticity of superficial films. Static e q u i l i b r i u m method which avoids the drawback of other methods and enables to make continuous measure ments. Great accuracy to 0,05 dyne/ cm. The precision is easily contrôlable, operation consisting essentially on a weighing. Rapidity of operation. Variations of surface tension with the time ore readily noted.
