The far-infrared and Raman spectra of (CH3)4N15,(TMA.H,O),& (TMA = trimesic acid), (phen),H15 (phen = phenacetin), (CH3)4NBr14,(C2H5)4N17,and (CH3)4N19have been recorded and analyzed. The first three compounds contain bent I,ions, linear 15- ions, and &-).(I2) species, respectively, whereas the last two may be described as (I3-)(&) and (I5-)(2IZ), respectively. Approximate stretching frequencies for the various moieties are 180 cm-' for I,, 110 and 140 cm-' for I
