ASTM Meeting on Mass Spectrometry

T h e fifth annual meeting of A S T M Committee E-14 on Mass Spectrometry will take place a t t h e Commodore Hotel in N e w York City, .May 20 t o 24. T h e meeting will have a n international as­ pect, with 61 papers scheduled t o be pre­ sented b y authors from seven countries. According t o t h e program, subjects covered will include high molecular weight analysis, solids analysis, ioniza­ tion potentials, isotopic a b u n d a n c e d e ­ terminations, as well as new mass spectrometer techniques a n d develop­ ments. A symposium on negative ions will be held on M a y 22 as p a r t of t h e meeting; papers will discuss negative ion forma­ tion in molecular gases, hydrogen and oxygen, a n d some halogenated gases, among other topics. Half-day discussion sessions for Sub­ committee 5 on N e w I n s t r u m e n t s a n d Techniques a n d for Subcommittee 7 on Solids ha\^e also been scheduled.
