New HEWLETT-PACKARD GC/Mass Spectrometer Dual Disc Data System

5934

HP 5 9 3 4 A offers powerful problem-solving capability for HP G C / M S systems Features include: • free 19,000-spectra library • new powerful computer • enhanced BASIC and systems software • simplified, more convenient operation • lower cost than previous system These and other HP 5934A Data System features offer even greater savings in time and more operating convenience for sample identification than the outstanding HP 5933A Data System it replaces. HP's powerful new 5934A Data System controls the scan operations of a Hewlett-Packard mass spectrometer, stores spectral data on discs, then displays and tabulates these data at operator command. Each disc can store over 1 2,000 mass spectra per GC run, typically 10 hours of uninterrupted analysis. The system is easily expandable to 255 interchangeable cataloged discs, providing over 5 billion bits of data storage.

HEWLETT

New, mass spec BASIC controls the spectrometer, produces graphics on the display terminal or plotter, and accesses data files in disc storage. In addition, the HP 5934A may be used as a general purpose computer system using BASIC, ALGOL, or FORTRAN IV with a proven HP disc operating system. Mounted in a 110-cm (43.5-inch) high cabinet are all Hewlett-Packard instruments composing the system: 21 MX Computer with 1 6,000 or optional 32,000 word memory; 7900A Dual Disc Drive for storing programs and spectral data; and mass spectrometer interfaces. System control is primarily through a graphic display terminal which provides high resolution alphanumeric and graphic displays, accepts all ASCII keyboard inputs, and also provides two graphic cursors that the operator uses to "point" to a CRT screen location. A plotter also may be used as an additional output device. For more information, contact the nearest HP office. Or write to Hewlett-Packard, 1601 California Avenue, Palo Alto, California 94304.
