There's also a high energy program for excellent signal-to-noise ratio even in lowenergy sampling, and a normal slit for most qualitative and quantitative work. Select a scan speed. You can choose scan speeds of 3, 10 and 50 minutes simply byteHching buttons. Automatic gain check. Even with samples in the beam, you can set the gain with this button. Change slits, and the gain changes automatically. See where you are. The red-band wavenumber readout shows how far the instrument has scanned, and you can see it across the room. What's more, the Model 297 has a built-in wavenumber marker for every 100 c m - i from 4000-2000 c m - 1 , and every
